David Depressed

His ancestors were among those children of Israel that voted against going into the promised land. He sits on the platform or in the pew looking like his favorite dog died. When he gets into the pulpit, there isn't any fire or enthusiasm.

He is negative about his church, City and denomination

"No one loves God, No one wants to go to church, we've tried everything, and no one responds. Outreach doesn't help, the church doesn't respond when I Preach, the organization just wants money, etc."

I did a revival for this guy! The entire church took on his attitude. One service there and you wondered if life was worth living any more. To be totally honest, I had to pull out every joke and funny story I could come up with in order to keep them interested.

This dudes depressed attitude drug the entire church down. He worked 3 or four jobs, left home at 4 am to be at work at 7 am and came home at 7pm at night. No wonder he was depressed, he was too tired to be anything BUT depressed. You see getting the right amount of sleep can really help your attitude. If you are burning the candles at both ends AND the middle, there is no rest, no time to recharge your batteries, no time to study, no time to do anything but work.

When I saw that town in my rearview mirror, I was one happy evangelist.

Is 28: 10. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11. For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
13. But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
