Peace in the midst of YOUR storm (part Eleven)

Psalms 23

1. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup Runneth over.
6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Look at verse number 4:

While we are living, we do not walk though the valley of death, we do not walk through death itself, but we are touched by the Shadow of Death.

The Oklahoma City Bombing

Earthquakes

Murders

Heart Attacks

These shadows touch us, and yes they even scare us. But with God on our side, we can make it through without fear!

An artist will use shadows to bring his paintings to life. Shadows gives it the appearance of life, and helps the picture look real.

Our own life has shadows and valleys of shadows whether we like it or not. In reality we need those shadows, we need the ups and the downs. We need mistakes to learn from, we need problems to over come, we need the dark times to appreciate the good times. But no matter what, we always have Jesus to keep us, to walk with us, to guide us and to comfort us.
