Missionary and Daughter see Protecting Angel.
For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your
ways.? Psalm 91:11 (NKJV) The night was wet and cold.
We were glad to be safe and warm indoors enjoying the company of our friends in Norway. We had made the journey from Austria by car in two and a half days. Laura, our fifteen-year-old Downs child, had enjoyed eating in restaurants along the way.
While we visited, Laura was upstairs in the bedroom listening to music. I went to check on her to make sure all was well. I heard the music playing as I climbed the stairs to the bedroom. I opened the door and looked in. Laura was not there. I looked for her in the house. Not finding her, I asked the others to help me. She was not in the house. My heart sank. How didshe get out without us hearing her?
When we established that she wasn?t in the house or in the yard, we called the police. They said that someone had just called in to report that they had seen a girl walking alongside the road about one mile from where we were. The police gave us the location, and my husband and friends drove to that area. They found Laura, cold and wet, walking along the road. He asked her where she was going. She replied with a weak voice, ''I'm lost''. He placed a coat around her and put her in the car.
When they arrived home, she was glad to see me. I took her upstairs and ran a warm bath for her. As the water was running, I put my arms around her and hugged her close. I began to pray, thanking the Lord for keeping her safe.
As I finished praying, I saw an angel. He smiled and nodded as if tipping his hat. When I saw him, I again said, "Thank you." In that moment, Laura also said, "Thank you." She had been aware of him. He turned and walked away. I felt great peace knowing that Laura had not been alone. The Lord had sent His angel to keep her.
