Dear Partners & Friends,
For the past few days we've felt strongly to write and request focused prayer for our work in France and for this country as a whole.
As you may know, Apostolics, Pentecostals & Evangelicals make up a very small percentage of the local population. Most of the French are Catholic, though they're non-practicing and in many cases, non-believing.
The prince of darkness has done his work well here. French society is entrenched in secularism, humanism & debauchery, but more disturbing than that is the fact that most of the French don't even know there's a better way. They know nothing of the Word of God; their only concept of Christianity being that of dead, dry tradition. The thought of a caring, nurturing, loving God who is ready to extend His hand and help them is a concept that is quite foreign to most French people.
Thousands of believers across France and in other countries have committed to 40 days of prayer & fasting for this nation, an effort that began March 1st and will continue through to April 9th. Would you remember to pray for France during these next few weeks?
France needs to be impacted by a sovereign move of God. During this time of focused prayer, believers are praying for God to shake this nation at its core. We're believing God for a Book of Acts revival! Is it not the Word of God that says, He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask for or think? Eph. 3:20 What a promise! What possibilities!
As for my wife & I, we returned to the field 5 weeks ago, following a 1-year furlough. We came back to a number of encouraging events & encounters. God's hand is at work. We began a new Home Bible Study last week and we've also been able to make several other very promising contacts. In your prayers, would you ask the Lord to bless the work in Chatellerault (pronounced SHA-TELL-ROW)? More specifically, would you pray for the following people?
Cyril GORDON - A young man with great potential and a heart for God. He's been attending church for the past few months but still needs his own Acts 2:38 experience. His mother & father are also watching his life closely, and we're praying that the Lord will save them too.
Fred DUVAL - A young man who lives near our new church building. His life's not going so well and he needs an encounter with the One who can change everything.
Mr. & Mrs. HENOCQUE (like Enoch) - A couple with whom we were recently able to have a very encouraging conversa tion about the Lord and about His work in France. They've only known Catholicism & High Protestantism, but they're hungry for the things of God in their life. We want to see them born again!
Lastly, we're facing a building program that's going to require God's
intervention. We've encountered additional red tape with the city; the
problem is, we can't wait forever to get into a larger facility. We have no more room to grow where we're at!
