Faith or Trust?

Former Los Angeles Police Chief Darryl Gates once spoke about faith and trust. His comments were along this line:

Every police officer ‘’believes’’ that his Kevlar vest will protect him or her; they have ‘’faith’’ that it will live up to it’s promise and stop that bullet.  They show that ‘’faith’’ by putting that vest on each day before getting into that patrol car or stepping out on to foot patrol.

If you want to see the definition of TRUST, watch that ‘’entry team’’. Men and women who not only strap on their Kevlar vests, but they charge forward while being shot at. THEY are showing their “TRUST” in their vests.

We can say that we believe in God, we can say that we have faith in God, but when we step out on faith; we show our trust in God. Remember, Faith without works is dead.
