Doing the right thing (Part 11)

High Places were where sacrifices to idols were made, while they obeyed the basic commandments of God; they were not willing to sell out 100% to him. They allowed High Places to remain. We cannot have high places in our lives, when Hezekiah removed them from the Kingdom God was able to bless him. You see we cannot be of two minds. We have to make up our mind to do the right thing. Sometimes we just have to stop doing certain things.

God wants us to follow him not just in obedience, but in love. So we must learn to do the right thing. That comes with learning and obeying the word of God.

Doing the right thing is a daily battle!

Example:

You are at work and need a stamp to mail the car payment. Your desk drawer has 45 stamps. Do you use one? (I worked for a company once the allowed you to use company stamps for personal use: it was a job perk, but not all companies allow that)

If I need an ink pen for any reason I can grab one out of the office supply cabinet. It is there for my use. But to grab one for someone else? Not the right thing!

We daily face ethical dilemmas! We must base our responses on scripture, teachings and common sense.
