Over the next few days I want to introduce you to some ''Christians'' that I have met over the years. Some of these are "Christian Leaders". To avoid pin pointing any one particular person, I have a number of composite characters listed, in fact some "leaders" while others are not. Some of these people may fit into one or more categories, and may be of either gender. But these are people with Attitudes that we should avoid obtaining.
Andy Arrogant:
Self-Centered!
Self-Important!
He is not just a minister but he is a (fanfare please) MINISTER, and will let everyone know about it. When I met this guy it was easy to see that he was a nice guy. From the pulpit, he comes across as down to earth and likable; and yes, he is a good speaker.
HOWEVER: away from the pulpit he always has to dress up and let it be known that he was a Preacher. If you did no know it, he told you. On top of that, he did not believe in associating with any one that wasn't a MINISTER because it was bad for his image.
He was a good Evangelist, but not Pastoral material. If he preached for a Pastor, he insisted that they go to a restaurant where he would not run into any of the laity there. He lost sight of the fact that being a Minister was more than standing behind the pulpit and telling us what we needed to do.
God is not calling Super Stars, he is calling men and women to live for him, work for him and to grow his kingdom.
