Gunther Gorgeous:

This guy has movie star good looks! He dresses just right and has his hair combed just so. His shoes have mirror shines and his nails are manicured to perfection. The women swoon over him and at camp meetings and youth services the teen-age girls line up to get his autograph, and sometimes he'll even (gasp) shake their hand. *swoon* He is the Elvis of the preaching community.

Now lets be honest, not every Gunther does this on purpose, some are good guys who are seriously working for God and are truly embarrassed by all the attention.

I knew one Gunther who preached at the church I grew up in. He had to slip out the back door after church or hide in the Pastors office until everyone was gone. Girls would drive 2 or 3 hours just to sit in a church and listen to him (watch him) preach. One night, he had to sneak out of church on his hands and knees. He crawled behind the pulpit, down the steps and out the back door. He was seen crawling across the parking lot and into the Pastors second car. He simply wanted to preach the gospel and see souls saved.

Yet there are the types who loved the attention. They would dress "Just Right", work on the hair so it was "Just Right", walk "just right", stand "Just Right", drive only the best cars, preach only the sermons that got the best results in the past.

Some of these guys can be found on T.V. preaching to their masses and giving kudo's to their hair dresser and clothing stores.
