Acts 4: 1. And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2. Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3. And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide
The sadducees did not believe in a resurection from the dead, I guess that is why they were so sad you see (ok ok ok, bad joke).
Sometimes the true gospel will hurt a bit, it will go against the grain and may not be what you want to hear. It may conflict with what you grew up with, what you have learned and what you believe, but if it can be backed up in the bible and what you believe can't, you have to go with the bible.
4. Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
One lame man healed + One sermon = 5,000 receiving the Holy Ghost. Not a bad revival huh?
