Acts Chapter 5, part 3

11. And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Do you ever read a scripture and have to stifle a giggle? I must admit that this verse makes me chuckle. As this story made its rounds people started to fear, and human nature makes you wonder if you were going to be next. I imagine that no one skipped a prayer meeting for a awhile and when people came to give more money to the church they may have brought the bill of sale with him.

Honest, I sold this for 1400 shekels. I used 100 shekels to re shoe my plow mules but the remaining 1300 I am bringing to the church. Here is my receipt for the reshoeing.

I sold it for 75 Silver pieces and here they are. I sold it to Joshua ben-Simon, he can verify it, just ask him!

Then Luke changes the tone of the story and moved on to something more pleasant... REVIVAL!

12. And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13. And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

There were signs and wonder because they were with one accord. There was Unity! If your church is not seeing signs and wonders, maybe its lacking in Unity. Forign missionaries tell us that they see signs, wonders and REVIVAL when the church binds together in UNITY.
Its amazing what can happen to a church when it allows God to work and they as a church family work together in UNITY!
