Altar workers Guidelines (Part 3)

  • That is not your seeker, don't cling to them like your world is coming to an end. God may direct a minister or church leader to that person
  • Allow the Ministry to step up and pray with them for a moment. Feel free to step back and allow the pastor, evangelist, guest speaker or other ministers to assist. The minister may shake his head and motion for you to go ahead and continue or he may step in.
  • Being a Minister does not give us ministers license to push in. If the altar worker is doing a fine job, it may not be necessary for the minister to get involved.
Ministers and church leaders:

  • If you see someone being rude, overly aggressive or obnoxious, then you need to calmly, tactfully and with a spirit of meekness and peace step in.
  • Sometimes at camp services (Junior Camp, Youth Camp and occasionally at family camp) steeping in becomes necessary.
  • If you don't know what to do with a particular seeker, step back and pray about it. I will ask God for a word of wisdom or a word of knowledge on how to handle a situation. Sometimes he tells me to just back away and allow someone else to step in. Other times he tells me something that helps.
