What did save me?

I couldn't be saved by attending church, nor by showing up on church work day.

I couldn't be saved by being nice and trying to obey the 10 commandments.

I couldn't be saved by being a good kid.

I had to be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.

There came a day when I had to admit that I was a sinner, that I needed to repent of my sins and that in and of itself was not enough.

I then had to be baptized in Jesus name and receive the Holy Spirit just as they did on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 2 37. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
