Praying the wrong way!

What is the focus of our prayer? What is our purpose?

I have heard people say: "I prayed for an answer to my need, and God didn't deliver me. He doesn't answer my prayers. When I pray, God just doesn't hear me, he doesn't care!"

Do you know why your prayers aren't answered? Its how you pray ! Its the Focus of your praye!

" Jesus, you see my need, you know what I'm going through, I need an answer to my prayer. Oh lord, my need needs to be met. Dear God, answer my prayer, Oh God, deliver me, Oh me, Oh Me, Me, ME!"

" Ye Ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts"
James 4:3

Prayer is not a Christmas wish list. "Hi Santa, I want a firetruck, and a pair of roller blades and a base ball glove, and a race car set..."

There is no praise, no worship, its all self focused, self centered. Me only!

We can get an answer to our prayer when we make our lives a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God. When we sacrifice our own needs to intercede for others, when we worship and praise God. Then he will honor our sacrifice, and answer our prayer.

Look at the Lords Prayer:

Matt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

If we can set aside our ego and not be so self centered, we will see results when we pray.
